Travel & Weather Information – Moon Villas in December 2025
This page provides a brief overview of current weather conditions in Bali and general travel tips for our guests. December is part of Bali’s rainy season, and occasional showers are normal. South Bali, including Umalas, Seminyak, and Canggu, continues to operate as usual, and there are no conditions affecting daily stays at Moon Villas.

Bali is currently in its wet (rainy) season, which typically runs from November through April each year. During this period, showers are frequent, but they are usually short, intense bursts that pass quickly and often give way to sunshine. Average daily temperatures stay warm at around 26–31 °C (79–88 °F) with a sea temperature near 29 °C (84 °F), keeping conditions pleasant for beach, pool, hotel, and cultural activities. December usually sees around 16–18 rainy days in the month, with strong humidity but plenty of sunshine in between rain showers. According to travel consensus and community experience (such as on TripAdvisor), rain in Bali during December does not mean all-day rain and visitors still enjoy outdoor activities — most rain comes afternoon or evening while mornings are often good for sightseeing and outdoor plans.
Current Weather Systems
Recently, Indonesian weather authorities have been tracking a tropical disturbance known as Bibit Siklon Tropis 93S in the Indian Ocean south of the Lesser Sunda Islands. This system is generating increased moisture, rain, and occasional winds over parts of Bali and neighboring islands, which is consistent with wet season patterns at this time of year.
BMKG (Indonesia’s official meteorology agency) has issued advisories on the potential for moderate to heavy rainfall, higher sea waves, and localized wind increases associated with this disturbance — but this does not mean a cyclone has formed over Bali or that extreme conditions are currently affecting all coastal areas. The system is monitored closely and conditions change day-to-day.
What This Means for Your Stay
-
Moon Villas and South Bali (Umalas, Seminyak, Canggu) are not experiencing flooding, cyclone landfall, or evacuation conditions at this time.
-
Bali’s infrastructure in main tourist areas continues to operate normally (shops, restaurants, beaches, transportation).
-
Occasional rain and tropical showers are typical for the season and short-lasting, and do not generally disrupt holiday plans. Guests continue to enjoy pool time, beach days, dining, cultural tours, spa sessions, and more.
-
Weather can vary across the island; localized rainfall or wind gusts sometimes occur even when the sun is shining nearby.

About Cyclone News & Online Information
You may come across online news or social media posts discussing tropical disturbances or cyclone activity in the region. These systems are seasonal and monitored every year during the wet season.
At present:
-
There is no cyclone directly affecting South Bali
-
No official evacuation or travel warnings for Umalas, Seminyak, or Canggu
-
Weather conditions remain within normal rainy-season patterns
It’s important to note that tropical disturbances do not automatically mean dangerous conditions, and many remain offshore or weaken without major impact.
